Faith is always centered in Christ

"One of the great obstacles to becoming Zion may be that we can't quite raise our belief structure to include viewing ourselves in Zion with firm desire and inspired hope. When we at last do conquer this unbelief we will find the heavens opening, for the Lord gives no commandment unto the children of men except He also prepares a way for them to accomplish (see 1 Nephi 3:7).

If you can believe that God will open the way for you to be a righteous father, mother, or missionary, then you already have sufficient faith to become Zion. What you may yet lack is the ability to believe in your personal place in Zion. To understand how unbelief can rob us of the blessings of God, let us for a moment consider the interesting convergence between faith and believe.

Faith is the result of exposure to the Spirit of the Lord and as a gift of God. Faith is not actually reside in men. When we are based on principle of truth, a commandment of God, or anywhere spring of the spirit, the Spirit of the Lord touches our souls with a tiny increase of faith regarding that principal.

One can only have faith in things that are true. We can't have faith in a falsehood. Only to the extent that principal contains truth can we exercise faith in it. For this reason, faith is always centered in Christ, because all truth comes from Christ."
