If I do live true to that voice and that light, then I will have an internal source of light

"If I do not live true to the light that I have been given, to the still, small voice of my own conscience, to the voice of the Lord, to the oath and covenant I have made, then I lose my internal source of light and I become buffeted by the fickle pressures of circumstance and personality. But if I do live true to that voice and that light, then I will have an internal source of light that will be my source of guidance and comfort and direction; it will be like an anchor and, as the scripture says, 'without compulsory means it shall flow unto thee forever and ever.'

This is how the Savior can literally become the light and life of our personal lives. We are not a hearer only, but a doer. We acquire an internal anchorage, a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and then he literally becomes our guide and our comfort. 'The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures… he restorerth my soul.'"

Stephen R. Covey, "The Spiritual Roots of Human Relations", p. 175
