There persists in the spirit of every soul a residuum from his preexistent spiritual life which instinctively responds to the voice of the Spirit of Christ

I firmly believe that notwithstanding the fact that men, as an incident to mortality, are cast out from the presence of God and deprived of past memories, there still persists in the spirit of every human soul a residuum from his preexistent spiritual life which instinctively responds to the voice of the Spirit of Christ until and unless inhibited by the free agency of the individual.
